In May 2018, REALME launched their first device REALME 1 with the branding of OPPO, looking at the success and the acceptance it received from public, the company launched REALME 2 which is a remarkable device when it came to looks as it was one those rare most budget devices that came with a NOTCH back in September 2018 and by the time, company had already captured one fourth of the market from XIAOMI and ASUS.
The company shocked its competitors with the launch of REALME 2 PRO as it came with waterdrop notch that was expected to be in ONEPLUS 6T. Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 AIE processor and new notch design were enough for people to attract to it. As expected, company made great sales from this device too. Realme started its journey as a subsidiary of Oppo, but became an independent brand within less than a year and is now headed by former Oppo’s VP Sky Li. The company has launched 5 smartphones in the market that have helped it to taste success even in such a competitive market. But all of the company’s smartphones still come pre-loaded with ColorOS, the custom UI developed by Oppo that is not much loved by customers.
According to a report by 91Mobiles, Realme recently filed a trademark with the United Kingdom Intellectual Property Office, where the application talks about ‘RealmeOS’, which is why company is expected to update its devices with RealmeOS with Android 9 update which will be a FOTA update that should be rolled out in 2019. Along with this, company is also expected to launch its own APP STORE which will be interesting as in that case company will be directly competing with Google’s PLAY STORE and Apple’s APP STORE.
Its going to be nice to watch Realme’s own customization over Android Pie. We still cannot answer to the questions like would be near to stock or would be heavily customized like XIAOMI’s MIUI, but just because the company provided such great performance in past, so it expected to perform something nice in future too.
All the best REALME!!
